The Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) has agreed to outsource 360 staff to the French IT provider Capgemini Group, with 110 Melbourne jobs moving by the end of the year.
Under the five-year software-testing and environment management contract, subject to final negotiations and regulatory approvals, 250 staff members at ANZ's facility in Bangalore, India, will also be offered comparable roles with Capgemini.
Anne Weatherston, chief information officer at ANZ, said:
We selected Capgemini for its mix of technical aptitude and strength in delivering full testing capabilities. Their innovative commercial model will enable us to build a world-class testing and environment management service. As part of ANZ’s 2017 technology roadmap, we are confident that, through this partnership with Capgemini, we will have better access to the increasingly scarce IT skills that support every part of our business and our customers, improving the overall performance of our business.
Capgemini will now support some 800 technology applications and the delivery of 280 ANZ projects.
Aiman Ezzat, CEO of the financial services and global business unit at Capgemini, said:
We are proud to have the opportunity to assist ANZ in achieving their 2017 technology roadmap by bringing best-in-class testing processes, tools and capabilities and leveraging our global financial services expertise. The win reinforces our position as a leading managed testing services firm both in Australia and India and on a global level. Our approach focuses on the transformational benefits to the broader technology organization driven by best-in-class testing services.
